![]() Sword of Dark Destruction, et al.- Decent, 800 ATK is a good amount with decks that are constructed to have the right types of monsters, but I would take Rightful Magic first A dead card when being attacked by other playersĭarkworld Shackles - Decent, has varying uses at controlling the movement of Monster's on the board, from prevent a monster from reaching the center of the board for the free card, slowing an enemy from attacking you or another player, or to allow you to slow your own monster to build a greater swarm to overwhelm a target. Rush Recklessly - Decent, good for making beatsticks reach the center card faster, or for giving Hyperspeed to Superspeed cards. Pierce - Decent, useful in bypassing players that are turtling, but a dead card when being swarmed Genie's Fire Breath - Limited, Mystical Space Typhoon is better than this card in every way, though it can be used as a second trap removal card if you are interested Rightful Magic - Good, 800 ATK removal is useful, nuff said Yellow Luster Shield - Limited, only useful in decks that want to stall Horn of the Unicorn - Decent, 600 ATK while not Fantastic is still a good chunk of attack that can be used to help non tribute monsters get over 1 Tribute foes Intercept Wave - Limited, very strong debuff that is only use-able in few situations requires you to build a deck around it Super Rush Headlong - Good, most decks run some form of Super Speed to reach the card in the middle, and having Superspeed x2 is one of the best buffs in the game for instant damage if you can predict properlyĭarkness Approaches - Limited, is serves as a means to lock up defense position cards, and as a way to control position change immune cards Scroll of Bewitchment - Decent, useful as a get the hell off of me card, or with denying an opponent from gaining life points limited in that the card still leaves a body on the board that can stack with other monsters and destroy anything you follow up withĭouble Attack - Decent, useful in decks that stack Extra Attack, or run a lot of Pierce and Taunt Mystical Space Typhoon - Limited, useful on offense, but typically useless on defense unless you can predict a buff/debuff trap. Use for Offense, or when defending and then counter attacking. Wind Spirit's Protection - Good, 800 ATK buff by itself is amazing, let alone 800 DEF. Neos works well with Super Rush Headlong, Multistrike Dragon works well with Vengeful Dragon's CounterAttack and so forth.Īs a new player, it will be fairly easy to access to the following spells and traps:ĭetonate - Decent, with the ability to remove 1000 ATK, one of the highest debuffs in the game Most of these cards have a strong effect that synergizes with a Niche Card. Hopefully you will choose a strong UR Monster that you can build your deck around. Niche Cards - Super Rush Headlong, Mythical Bestiary, Machine Duplication, Dark Revelation, Scrum Force, Duelist Alliance, Vengeful Dragon's CounterAttack etc. Useful in a broad range of scenarios, utility cards can help manage scenarios as optimally as possible, either by countering what an opponent is doing or by ensuring you are in a solid position Utility - Block Attack, Shield and Sword, Life Absorbing Machine Most matches will inevitable have multiple opponents attacking you, and having defensive options available will allow you to hopefully hold outīuffing / Debuffing - Wind Spirit's Protection, Rightful Magic, Curtain of Sparks, Reinforcementsīeing able to alter Monster ATK and DEF will allow you to win trades and keep board presence, ensuring you are a threat and not an easy target for other players to focus and get easy LP One of these cards will improve your ability to either damage an opponent directly or gain access to the free card at the center of the arena.ĭefense - Shield Handler, Security Orb, Compulsory Escape Device Offense - Rush Recklessly, Pierce, Battle Mania ![]() As a result I would recommend taking at least a total combination of 5 Spells and Traps, and to have at least 1 card from each of the following categories: It is good to have a well balanced selection of spells and traps starting out. Worthless - You would never play this card Limited - Weak, having only applications in very scarce scenarios Good - Typically a very useful card, can be used in most decksĭecent - Middling, cards that are good but only under certain circumstances / decks Usefulness rankings (Note these are based on how useful cards are typically in all situations, Attacking or Defending)įantastic - This card is practically a must have, regardless of deck Please feel free to provide feedback, and I can adjust insights accordingly.
