![]() ![]() It is the industry standard of encryption, and is the required level of security for top secret files by the American NSA and CSS. Encrypto FeaturesĮncrypto uses the Advanced Encryption Standard-256 bit key encryption, and it is, like its name, incredibly advanced and secure. So, many thanks to our Hider 2 users without you Encrypto wouldn’t exist. We figured it’s high time to make encryption available to everyone. Once something reaches the internet, it’s possible for anyone to gain access to it. Putting your files on the internet, or even just sending them, without encrypting them is kinda the same as leaving your bike on the street without a bike lock. Many of them had requested a file-sending encryption app because they felt it was an important issue that needed solving and that it would help them in their day-to-day.Īnd they’re right, which brings us to the second reason - we’re reaching a point where not encrypting files could be a problem. The first reason is that our Hider 2 users asked for it. It’s free to download and available on both Mac and Windows. Just take your file or folder, drop it in Encrypto, encrypt it, and send it to anyone straight from within the app. It’s an easy-to-use app (isn’t everything nowadays?) that lets you encrypt files with AES-256 encryption and then send them to friends or coworkers via built-in sharing options. With the portable variant, you don’t need to install Rohos it, just open the exe file. We’re happy to announce that we’ve released Encrypto. Most of all, Roho Mini Drive is also available in a portable variant. You can use this virtual keyboard when using the USB drive on other systems. For added security from keyloggers, Rohos Mini Drive supports a virtual keyboard. While encrypting a USB drive, you can create a restoration disk which allows you to recover encrypted data in case of emergencies. You can also hide a folder or any other application directly on your USB drive. The good thing about Rohos is that it comes bundled with Rohos Disk Browser utility that allows you to read and write data to the encrypted USB drive on a guest operating system. Just like every other software on this list, Rohos uses AES-256 bit algorithm and supports on-the-fly encryption. Encrypting a USB drive is just a few clicks and good for users with minimum knowledge of computers. Rohos Mini Drive has a very simple, minimal app with easy to use user interface. The only option you have is to upgrade to Windows Enterprise, Ultimate, Pro, Education, or Server edition and this will cost you a minimum of $100. There is no way to get access to BitLocker on the Windows Home variant. ![]() However, BitLocker is not available for users using the Windows Home version. For instance, you can use all three authentication methods at the same time.īitLocker is built into Windows so you don’t have to pay anything extra. The good thing is, you can mix and match all those authentication methods for increased security. Moreover, BitLocker uses three different types of authentication methods called “Transparent Operation Mode” with uses TPM to automatically decrypt files, User authentication like PIN and Password, and USB Key Mode where you have to insert a USB drive containing a special key to decrypt the encrypted files. ![]() Since BitLocker is deeply integrated with the Windows operating system, it gives you better speed while encrypting and uses hardware encryption using TPM (Trusted Platform Module). Depending on your settings, BitLocker users 128-bit or 256-bit AES encryption. Using BitLocker you can encrypt entire drives and volumes/partitions with just a click or two. ![]() Meaning, you won’t get it if you are on the Home variant. The only caveat is that it comes with built-in Windows Pro version onwards. If you are a dedicated Windows user and don’t want to use or buy another software to encrypt your USB drives then the built-in BitLocker is just the right option. ![]()
